His visionary efforts to preserve India’s natural heritage laid the foundation for Vantara. This legacy, carried forward by Shri. Mukesh Ambani, inspired Shri. Anant Ambani to create a place dedicated to conserving biodiversity and honouring wildlife.

Mukesh and I are incredibly proud of our son, Anant, for creating the world’s largest rescue and rehabilitation centre in Jamnagar. A tiny Sulcata tortoise hatchling, just a few days old, arrived at Vantara, fragile and almost lifeless, rescued from the illegal pet trade. Vantara’s dedicated team of veterinarians sprang into action immediately, crafting a one-of-a-kind neonatal care plan to save him.

Our Otter named Chintu's early life was far from natural, living in captivity and raised in isolation, he was confined to a cramped enclosure with only a shallow water tray. Vantara’s intervention focused on both Chintu’s physical recovery and his emotional healing. Chintu’s progress isn’t just about a recovery it’s about the strength of care, and the understanding that even the most time-consuming beginnings can lead to remarkable transformations, especially when there is a place like Vantara.

Healing Ari: A Tegu’s Path to Recovery
Three months ago, Ari, an Argentine Black and White Tegu, was rescued in dire condition—in pain, weak, starving, and struggling to survive. He had fallen victim to the illegal pet trade, where animals like him are often smuggled and kept in inhumane conditions. Ari’s recovery was slow and delicate, but the team’s dedication never wavered. With meticulous care, they provided constant support, ensuring he received essential nutrition through a feeding tube while closely monitoring his progress. The caretaker’s commitment was crucial in helping him regain strength, heal, and eventually eat on his own.
